Sunville Rail was engaged to reinstate a 3km section of 96f Lumen/Colt cable and a 1km section of 24f FTN Specification cable previously diverted under phase 3 of the Teignmouth Rockfall Shelter Project in 2021.

As part of these works and to enable the installation of both cables, containment route works and route clearance was required to be undertaken along the coastal route with a number of challenges due weather conditions, however we have successfully overcome this to deliver works ahead of programme and without disruption.

The scope of the works completed;

* Supply and installation of Vortok fencing around work zones

* Clear out existing route and redress cables

* Route works to replace and repair sections of cable troughing

* Installation of new raised route troughing

* Installation of new GRP cable route on posts

* Installation of new joint chamber

* Cable pull and installation of 24 & 96f fibre optic cable into existing route.

* Route and intrusive surveys

* Vegetation clearance

* Deliver materials to work zone via insulated track trolleys

* Organize material deliveries to RRAP
