Sunville Rall contracted by Kiers to work on the Faster Safer Isolation technology project
Network Rail is rolling out new railway technology across the South Western Railway line. This technology is called Faster Safer Isolations technology. It will give track workers an additional 1,600 hours annually during which they can perform essential overnight maintenance and renewal works
Sunville Rail work closely with Kiers to provide the resource to accommodate the projects tight timescales to enable the new technology to become live across a range of sites in Wessex.
Sites were progressed in sequence with each site having its own requirements and modifications to enable the equipment to be installed.
Many of the sites existing floor were damaged and unsuitable for the intended use. A floor remedial plan was put in place involving the placement of a quick drying screed solution to FM1 standard. This undertaking in the winter months required close monitoring of the temperatures and screed installation to ensure a suitable surface.
Various other routeworks, bases and building modifications for the works were also undertaken.
